Budget, Awards aur Cup

“Bhaiya ice-cream stick me nahi cup me chahiye, chai glass me nahi cup me chahiye” goes the Panasonic Radio Jingle to promote the brand in this mega cricket season. In between you have the year’s most sought after video footage of the lok sabha where an annual budget is looked upon to be bringing the big change in a decade; that too on a day when Hollywood is showcasing its Mega Oscars event!! What an eventful day you would say, at least for the newspapers it surely turned out to be few more extra pages, creative illustration of the Oscars and budget combination like this:
In the morning it was about catching up with who is winning what award, which movie got how many of academy awards. People these days also carry notes of saying thank, so that they don’t miss out someone for they want more work.
As the day progressed, budget took the centre stage, expectations of 100 million people to be met. I am not going to judge how the budget fared as nothing is going to change about the way things will be implemented as promised.
Among these events, two World cup matches were scheduled, all four countries involved were more or less marked as minnows and general expectations were that theses matches will be full of competition, rather what happened was boring one-sided matches, but with some brilliant performance with the Bat and Bowl (I Know I sound like Ravi Shastri here; but we all have positive and negative Chi, don’t we?)
So much of events in day gave that strange feeling at the end. The famous dialogue from the Movie Jab we Met: Bas bahut ho gaya Babaji, boring bana do is raat ko ab!! How a day progresses can be easily tracked these days thanks to the twitter trends.

  1. Nitpicking here, it's actually closer to 1200 million or 120 crores or 1.2 billion whose expectations need to be met by the Union budget. Keep writing.
